I’m back to work after two weeks of sick leave. My body told me loud and clear that it was time to slow down, NOW.
I actually felt sick, but without a fever and a runny nose. I needed to rest and relax. So I did.
Times like these tell me that the way I’m living my life right now is not the best for me.
So I wrote down all the things in my life where change is needed. For example work. I work 4 days a week now, but it’s just too much. With a toddler at home, I get too little time too myself.
So that’s one of the first things on my list that need change. Yesterday when I was back at work, I had a great conversation with my manager. I’m glad she’s so supportive and that’s she tries to help me feel better. But she also made it very clear that I’m the one who needs to make decisions and decide if I want to stay in this job or need to look further. She also suggested taking every other Wednesday off. That was the only option she had, and I’m content with that. I’m looking forward to having a day to myself!
Warning signs your body gives you
When I feel I’m sliding a down a negative spiral I notice that my habits are taking a dip as well.
I eat less healthy and resort to junk food which has a negative effect on my body.
The house gets messier and I don’t feel like going out or socialize.
These changes indicate that I need to be very cautious because these bad habits can grow into a depression.
Time to slow down and listen to what my body and soul have to say.
What does your body tell you when you need to slow down?
